Audible - warum ich in letzter Zeit viele Hörbücher höre + meine Top 3 Hörbücher

Nicole Dechow

Ayurveda 3.PNG

1. A Course in Miracles / Dr. Helen Schucman

2. The Code of the Extraordinary Mind / Vishen Lakhani

Empfehlung: Angebot - Prime Day von Amazon:

xx, Nicole

THE LAW OF LOVE - a poem by Yogi Bhajan

Nicole Dechow

IMG_2325.JPG

Here is one of my favorite poems about Love, that inspired me in many ways over years.

The Law of Love
Love gives you power to merge,

From finite to Infinity.

Love gives you power to trust,

From nothing to everything.

Love gives you power, the most powerful.

Prayer between you and your Creator.

Love gives you vastness,

As vast as there can be.

Love gives you the hold, the experience,

And the touch with your own Infinity,

As beautiful as there can be.

Love is that surrender.

When you surrender at the lotus feet

Of the master, you become the master.

When you become the master,

You surrender your universe to the Universe.

Then you become divine.

When you surrender your divinity

To the Infinity, you become Infinite.

That is the Law of Love.

I found this poem back in 2009  in a teachers manual, when I just finished my Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training.
If you want to find more about the transforming teachings Yogi Bhajan  gave us you can visit the Kundalini Research Institute here.

Love always, Nicole.

Lauren Lee, international yoga teacher and founder of community platform raiseyourbeat.com

Soul Talk is a short 3 question interview with inspiring people from the yoga and mindfulness community all over world.
Today answered by international yoga teacher and longtime friend of mine Lauren Lee, 28, from Boston, USA.
She has a  passion for exploring herself and the wild, beautiful world in which we she lives in.
I met Lauren 6 years ago in Goa, India and since then we stayed in touch being on different parts of this beautiful earth, connecting through yoga and our spiritual path.  Read what Lauren answered to our 3 soulful question.

What l love:

  • My daily meditation practice — I always try to incorporate 3 things I am grateful for to start my day with abundance and joy.
  •  Sacred Goddess’s within traditions — the Divine Feminine energy is bold, creative, wild, fierce, nurturing, intuitive and unconditionally loving. These are all traits I aim to embody in my own life.
  • Tropical islands…the sunshine, fresh fruit, slower pace of life and cleansing Ocean water always makes me feel completely present and alive!

What Yoga means to me:

To me, yoga is a way of life and cannot be defined in one way. I believe yoga is all encompassing and a state of integration of body/mind/heart awareness. Yoga is represented in so many different forms and practices, yet the ultimate yoga is one which invites consciousness, celebration, collaboration and union within our diverse inner and outer landscapes.

I truly believe that yoga will heal the world and the true teachings of yoga can always be practiced at anytime, by anyone.

My Health Secret:

Taking time for myself to rest, reflect and integrate. The more I teach and travel, the more time I need to spend with myself — I do this through my own Sadhana, lots of sleep, yoga nidra (especially when I can't sleep!), nourishing foods and being ‘okay’ with not over committing myself with social obligations.

Lauren teaches, loves and learns around the globe.

The best 5 tips on how to start meditating

Nicole Dechow

Some years ago meditation was just an addition to my yoga practice. But during the 3 years I lived in India I discovered meditation on a deeper level. I spent a lot of time in the Osho Meditation Center in Pune, where meditation became something so natural and so effortless to me. These days my mediation practice has become something I don't want to miss. It connects me to myself and my purpose.

Most of us  live a busy lifestle with a schedule that is filled for weeks, sometimes months and I know it can feel that you just don’t have enough time to sit still and “do nothing”. But the truth is meditation is not taking time away from you infact  it is giving you more valuable quality time.
There are many benefits of meditation such as overcoming stress-symptoms in the body, being more focused and productive but also meditation is a journey to understand yourself and life. You will make better decisions, you will feel better and be more aligned with your outside and inside world.  If you want to set your day right start to implement meditation in your morning routine or how Russell Simmons says it in his own open words “ I ain’t do shit before I aint meditate.”

Here are my 5 tips to start your meditation practice at home

1.     Meditation journal
Keep a meditation journal. Just write whatever comes up in whichever form it suits you. I sometimes write a whole page, sometimes just one word. It i really your own personal experience.

2.    Meditation space
Have a committed space – so you know exactly where to go in the morning. If it’s a meditation pillow keep it in there. Maybe create a small altar or decorate it with small things that mean something to you.
My friend Christina from Happy Mind Magazine makes amazing travel altars. Check them out.

3.    Schedule it
Set an alarm in your phone, ipad, or your calendar to meditate. Everyday.

4.     Meditation Technique
Find the meditation technique that works for you. A simple technique often referred to as breath awareness is wachting your own breath at the tip of your nose. When you become aware of your breath with each inhalation and exhalation slowly the mind relaxes and the thoughts stop. They will return but you can slowly train your mind to come back and become aware of your breath.

5.    Be patient and compassionate with yourself
Always and just keep showing up in your meditation space. One day will be amazing, one day you will bet thinking about all the things you don't want to think of. That is normal and we all experience that. Just keep going.

I wish you the most beautiful meditation journey …oh and if i can give you one advice I learned from one of the greatest meditation masters and a great teacher for me :
don't mistake meditation with concentration – it’s the opposite .
Meditation is relaxation.

Love and Peace,

Nicole

1 week of yoga, ibiza and magical moments

1 week of yoga, ibiza and magical moments

Ohh Ibiza - I instantly fell in love with this island when I first arrived and until now it's a long-lasting love story – I would even say it's true love material.
The rough and beautiful nature, the crystal-clear turquoise water, the smell of oranges and figues in the air and this special energy around that you can only feel when you are on the island.
I could write you a million love letters, Ibiza, but today I write about the love and magic at our yoga retreat I taught last week with my wonderful, talented most kind-spirited partner Jessica Ziesmer and a group of beautiful people who came with us to re-treat themselves with yoga, meditation and the nature of this beautiful place.

Breath-taking view from our yoga terrace

Breath-taking view from our yoga terrace

Ibiza. Yoga. Magic. We chose this name for our yoga retreats because we intend to create an atmosphere of magic for our students and let them experience magic in all forms - the magic of yoga, the magic of Ibiza and especially their own magic inside. A yoga retreat is always an opportunity to find time to look inside where find time away form the daily things and to-do-lists that keep us away from ourselves and what is going on inside of us. It's a time to recharge and refill your batteries.
This retreat was already our 3rd retreat on Ibiza and we couldn’t be more thankful for a group of wonderful people and a week full of magical yoga moments.
Our days always started with a more dynamic yoga session overlooking the magical rock "Es Vedra". This rock is sometimes described as Atlantis and it is definitely a powerful place that you won't forget too easy and pulls people from the whole island just to see the sunrise or sunset.
The classes had a different focus everyday to allow the students to dive deeper in their practise, gaining new experiences and take new insights back home.

The days were filled with some activities that everybody could choose themselves or just relaxing on the beach or pool. We discovered some new beaches on the west coast of the island this time, but still our "home-beach" the beach at Cala d’Hort with direct swimming in front of the "Es Vedra" rock is one of my favorites.

Our afternoon sessions were mostly yin and restorative yoga classes followed by special meditations. We also had a Yoga playground class for everybody who wanted to try out some handstands, armbalances and other acrobatic stuff and partner yoga.

On our first weekend we were lucky to visit the Ibiza Spirt Festival, which is a come-together of the spiritual community on Ibiza at the beautiful eco-resort "Atzaro" on the eastside of the island. There was a lot of yoga, dancing, therapeutic sessions, gong & sound healing, watsu etc. (I might have to write a separate post about it). One of my personal highlights was the drumming circle at the end of the festival. High energy, beautiful people and a sunset above one of the most beautiful locations of the island.

Intenion-setting was a big theme in our yoga week. To me setting an intention for your yoga practice reminds us that we are a part of a whole bigger plan, that our actions, words and thoughts matter and we practice mindfulness, awareness and manifestation.
The highest motivation for me is to see the students going home with their heart full of new experiences, their bodies with new energy and their lifes with new ideas and intentions. That spark in the eyes says it all sometimes.
That’s what keeps me going as a teacher in the service of yoga and I am committed to do, with deep gratitude.

Ibiza, I carry you in my heart and I see you soon again.

love and gratitude, nicole.

INNER PEACE - 5 ways to find it right now

Nicole Dechow

choose peace over worry

choose peace over worry

Inner Peace sounds big and often we believe that to achieve a state of inner peace we need our lives to be perfect, do something or earn that state of peace. We tend to believe that when we achieve something, do something or be something we will find peace. The truth is we are always evolving and will never stop evolving and be perfect. In fact right now, in this moment on your journey you can find peace. Peace comes from within.
By finding your inner peace you are reflecting peace to the outside world and as we know these days our world can need an extra dose of peace.

Here I share with you 5 ways to find your inner peace – right now:

1.     Make peace with your past
Whatever happened on your journey, make peace with it. That doesn’t mean it’s all ok and you agree with everything that happened. At the same time make a cut and do not allow your past to determinate who you are today or even will become in the future. Forgive yourself and forgive others.

2.     ME Time
Commit to time with yourself. Meditate, do whatever makes you feel connected to yourself like art, listening to music. This time is so important and trust me you can only be happy with someone else when you can be happy with yourself first.

3.    Authenticity
The only way to love and to to be loved as the hightest version of you is to be truly authentic and be who you are.
That’s a powerful statement and its absolutely true. You are unique and you are amazing like that. Share your uniqueness with the world.

4.    Connect with nature
Spend time in nature, everyday. Look around, appreciate nature and soak up the energy. It’s like a recharge for your soul and your being. Breathe the good and fresh air.

5.     Move
Move in whichever way you can. Your body loves to move. It allows stored emotions in the body to get released and keeps your body strong and flexible.
We all know how many emotions we can let go of if we move deeply into hip-openers in yoga class or how releasing it can feel to hit a punching bag.  Run to work, choose to take the stairs or take your friend on a yoga date.

By changing ourselves first we can make an impact and by that change the world.
Sending out love and peace,
you are loved and you are worthy,

Nicole
